When it arrived I used it diligently every time I showered (2-3× a week). On the 4th or 5th time it sloughed off so much skin. The trick is to get the shower steamy, wet the mitt and your body a little and then scrub. Dont stand under the water while scrubbing because it needs some friction. 6th and 7th time it didnt slough off anything but I was satisfied because I did such thorough scrubbing before. Now I use this once every week or 2 and it sloughs off dead skin wonderfully. Dont expect to see dead skin every time you shower!The roughness of the mitt somewhat fades but it still works. Even then it's too rough for my sensitive face so I only use it on my body.
I happened across the MicrodermaMitt while I was browsing for a new exfoliating cloth to replace an old one. The price seemed pretty steep for an exfoliating mitt, but the reviews were good, and I was in a "treat yo'self" mood that day, so figured I'd give it a shot.... Not going to lie, I was a bit disappointed when I opened it. It kind of looked like something I'd find in the $1 Deal bin, and it felt so smooth/non-abrasive that I really didn't think it was going to actually exfoliate my skin all that much. I figured I'd been duped out of 25 bucks and that was that.... Next time I went to shower, I almost grabbed my old exfoliating cloth, but decided to at least give the MicrodermaMitt a shot. And I still CANNOT believe how well this mitt worked. (Now, I want to preface this by saying that I religiously exfoliate, twice a week, every week. I've been through plenty of different exfoliating cloths, mitts, scrubs, etc.) I got in the warm shower, gave it a few minutes to soften up my skin, then turned off the water and got to scrubbing.At first, I really didn't think it was doing much. It didn't feel harsh, abrasive, or scratchy like most exfoliating mitts, and honestly, it felt like it was just kind of smoothly wiping over my skin. And then I ran my hand over my freshly-exfoliated stomach, and it was absolutely COVERED with little balls and rolls of removed dead skin (gross, I know).This mitt exfoliated me SO well that I had to stop and rinse myself and the mitt a couple times before I got completely done. And as someone who already frequently exfoliates, I couldn't believe there was THAT MUCH to remove!!!After drying off, and applying a light moisturizer, I still can't believe how smooth, silky, and fresh my skin is. Even though the MicrodermaMitt exfoliated so well, it was not harsh, at all. Usually I come out of the shower a bit red, blotchy, and dry after exfoliating. The MicrodermaMitt didn't leave me red or overly scrubbed at all, just smooth and fresh. In fact, it was so gentle that I even used it on my face immediately after stepping out of the shower.The generous size of the mitt makes it super fast to exfoliate all over, it easily rinsed clean, and the hanging loop is super convenient for storing out of the shower.I will definitely purchase this mitt over and over again, it is WELL worth the price!
